Hi my name is Mike Wise and I’m a Social Tech specialist. My church is Christ Community Chapel in Hudson, Ohio, USA. Some of the members of my church have been supporting and helping Agape Home for many years. These saints of God asked me if I would lend a hand and help Agape Home with their Website and Social properties. Let me first say that over the last few months I’ve gotten to know Avis and Roy Rideout in a small way, as well as Peter and Kelly Worner who have been assisting Avis and Roy these past several months. It’s incredible what they and so many other volunteers have done since 1996 when Agape Home first opened. I so appreciate their hearts and the energy that they have poured into these children. My wife, Diane, and I are looking forward to coming there in the first week of September to visit Agape Home and teach and train on the new Web site and Social Media. Stay tuned! Some really cool things are going to be happening online with Agape Home.
On behalf of Agape Home, I wanted to say a few words about what we’re trying to accomplish with the NEW Website, both short-term and long-term. And this is where you come in.
- Agape Home has always been about the children and the volunteers that come and serve them. Thus, the website primarily serves the purposes of fundraising for the children and a place for the volunteers to stay connected and share their Agape Home experiences. Please browse around the site. Please share any encouraging comments that you have in the comment field below. Agape Home wants to hear from YOU! And if you have an Agape Home story to share, please write about that as well in the comments section below. If you would like to go even further and submit a complete story, that would be really, really super fantastic. And of course, please share this site across your networks and encourage others to do so as well.
- Longer term, we will be using the website as a tool for outreach and fundraising. Funds are always needed for daily provision, for Agape Home maintenance, for plant and property improvements, and for growth and expansion so we can serve more children. And so we will be updating the site on a regular basis, hopefully weekly, especially if some of the past and future team trip visitors can write their stories and share those with us. We will also be sharing updates on what’s happening at Agape Home. For a look at the current needs, Click any Donate button and find the “More Ways to Help” link on the left. Thank you.
We will also be using Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to keep our community of supporters updated. We want to give our friends and supporters ample opportunity to share the Agape Home story with THEIR friends in the hopes of increasing the breadth and depth of our financial base so that Agape Home can continue to grow and thrive. Please take a minute right now and Subscribe to our site in the right margin. Like and Get Notifications under the Like button on our Facebook page. Follow our Instagram photos. And subscribe to our YouTube Videos. As time goes by, please continue to Like, Comment and Share our updates and encourage others to do likewise. And of course Agape Home is always in need of donations. Thanks SO much for helping the children. If not us, Who? If not now, When?
