One of my favorite places on earth!
After a warm welcome back from the children, staff and nannies, we had a great first week volunteering at Agape Home 2015, our 7th time here!

My Happy Place, at last!
I am very thankful to have been well prepared and flexible with activities for the school age children and preschoolers. Our team includes two other precious ladies, saints of God from Down Under.
It’s always important to teach respect and good habits, even for toys, like when returning game pieces to their proper boxes, to help the children learn the importance of placing the pieces in the box carefully, one by one. So one day I took the time to explain this. Wouldn’t you know it, the VERY NEXT DAY, in my haste, I put two pieces in the the box at THE SAME TIME!!! One ‘bright spark’ said to me with a sweet smile, “Mae Judith, one by one!” Oh the fun! God has a sense of humor, doesn’t he?!?! God, you are so good to me. 🙂
Learning English
The children are learning to speak and understand English! Here’s how:
Today, Saturday morning, I was with the 15 preschoolers. After new fun activities, I showed a picture book of Old MacDonald on the farm. Then we sang, “Old McDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O!!!” We sang that several times. It was so FUN to help them learn that famous jingle!
And then I saw God’s hand
After lunch and a nap, the pre schoolers joined us in the toddler section of the pool. I smiled and thanked God when I heard someone singing in the pool, “E-I-E-I-O…”. God, you are so good to me.
And then it hit me! Only moments before, I heard an older child in the deep end of the pool singing last year’s song,
“Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world.”
Wait a minute! “Was that you God? Were you speaking to ME through this precious little girl with HIV in Thailand? Right now, right here, using those words from last year, and in that context? God, you are SO GOOD to me.”
Perhaps I’m dreaming, but as I write and think more about it, could I have been given a tiny little epiphany from God to share with the Agape community. “Yes, I really do hear your prayers for these precious orphans. Never forget it. Teach them songs about MY love for them!”
“Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world.”
Do take a minute and share your thoughts.
Grateful to be able to serve Him in this practical way. Please keep praying for these children. Priceless.
Blessings, Judith
